"Create an awesome commercial to make sure Ajax fans welcome Ziggo's Giganet as the new shirt sponsor with open arms." That’s the challenge we took on just before the ‘22/’23 Eredivisie season kicked off.
The ingredients on the menu: “You’ll get a couple of Ajax’ football superstars and you need to promote Ziggo’s rapid Giganet.” Our creative minds cooked up an amazing dish: let’s have a BBQ at Tadic’ place, where Ajax players have a goofy, fun afternoon with all their devices. The goal was to let the Ajax players have a lot of real fun in the filming process, and the viewers had to be in on it!
And viral it went!
Ajax’ fanbase went wild with this video. With ten thousands likes and comments on every possible social media platform, this video overachieved in every department. Securing Ziggo and their product Giganet with a positive mindset among Ajax’ fans and giving them something new they never saw before: a little bit of comedy theater by their idols. Or, in the fans own words: “A Champions League commercial”.
We need a bigger screen!
What started off as an online video project, ended up to be a full-on marketing campaign including a TV commercial on Ziggo channels and a digital out-of-home on the Ziggo Dome, the biggest concert hall of The Netherlands. All because of the love and enthusiasm of the Ajax fanbase and our clients. Let’s just say we scored a hattrick.
A new creative challenge for Ajax was bound to come!
This time, we were asked to come up with a comedic video to promote the social activation around 'The Klassieker' Ajax-Feyenoord. The match might have been legendary for all the wrong reasons but the commercial we made is what you would call: Classic Aanstekelijk!!
