The Dutch Touring Club ANWB came up with a neat new device called 'Smart Driver', which connects the maintenance information from your car to a handy app. Our friends at Yune came up with an idea for a little mechanic that lives under your hood.
Immediately loving the idea for the video campaign, we creatively brought this little guy to life. We directed, edited and helmed the intricate VFX and post-production on this funny TVC. We also made an online campaign for Smart Driver in which there were more in-depth videos on the actual workings of the app. Big fun with this little dude!
The mechanics behind our little mechanic.
"Can you make a little dude crawl from the car AC and talk to the driver?" Uhm, of course we can! Our VFX specialists came up with an intricate plan that involved a lot of green screen, a lot of fiddling around, little toy figurines and a lot of planning. In the end the result was so convincing, that people were somewhat disappointed that Smart Driver was just an app in real life.
